SEO – Mengatasi Sitemap Error Pada Webmaster Tools

Pada pembahasan sebelumnya saya sudah membahas mengenai Tips Meningkatkan Alexa Rank. Kali ini saya akan sedikit membahas mengenai Sitemaps dan manfaatnya terhadap Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Banyak sekali blog ataupun web yang membicarakan pentingnya sebuah sitemaps terhadap SEO, sebenarnya apa sih fungsinya sitemaps ini?kenapa kita harus menggunakan sitemaps? Pertanyaan itu sebenarnya adalah pertanyaan yang keluar dari diri saya sendiri beberapa waktu yang lalu (maklum saya juga masih pemula yang masih perlu banyak belajar dari para webmaster-webmaster yang lebih berpengalaman), dengan bantuan om google akhirnya saya dapat sedikit pelajaran mengenai sitemaps.
Sitemaps ternyata sangat penting buat optimalisasi search engine. Kadang kita tidak sadar bahwa ada beberapa hal yang membuat halaman blog kita tidak terindex oleh robot Google, misalnya adalah link yang jelek antara setiap page di blog kita atau karena content yang terlalu berat pada sebuah blog yang membuat googlebot tidak bisa mengindex halaman blog kita tersebut. Sitemaps dibuat untuk memudahkan Googlebot dalam mengindex seluruh isi blog atau web kita, dengan menggunakan sitemaps googlebot akan lebih mudah mengindex seluruh isi blog kita walaupun terdapat kesalahan-kesalahan yang tidak kita sadari seperti hal-hal yang saya sebutkan diatas.

Mungkin ada beberapa teman-teman yang belum tau bagaimana cara membuat sitemaps untuk blog, buat yang belum tau caranya silahkan daftar terlebih dahulu di Google Webmaster Tools, buat yang sudah punya account Google bisa langsung login menggunakan account Google anda. setelah itu ikuti langkah-langkah yang diminta seperti memasukkan alamat blog, mem’verify menggunakan meta tag dan sebagainya.
Setelah proses pendaftaran selesai pada halaman Dashboard pilihlah menu Sitemaps >>> Add Sitemaps, pada Choose type pilih Add General Web Sitemap.
Nah, disinilah masalah terjadi. Dari hasil penelusuran saya, banyak yang mengatakan bahwa untuk membuat sitemaps kita cukup memasukkan URL feed blogger kita seperti:
http://namabloganda.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default atau
http://namabloganda.blogspot.com/atom.xml atau
feed asli blogger lainnya seperti rss.xml dan lain-lain.

Permasalahannya setelah saya coba semuanya selama satu bulan lebih hasilnya tetap sama yaitu status sitemaps ERROR. Nah buat teman-teman yang mempunyai masalah yang sama dengan saya, sekarang akan saya share solusi mengatasi masalah diatas.

Masalah sitemaps error pada webmaster tools ternyata terjadi karena blog menggunakan Redirected Custom Feed contohnya Feedburner. Ternyata status Sitemap Error disebabkan karena feed yang masuk ke webmaster tools bukan feed asli blog kita, melainkan feed yang telah di redirect melalui custom feed tersebut. Jadi buat yang tidak menggunakan Redirected Custom Feed bisa menggukan URL feed blogger seperti yang saya sebutkan sebelumnya.
Lalu bagaimana buat yang menggunakan Redirected Custom Feed?
Buat yang menggunakan Redirected Custom Feed tidak usah berkecil hati, untuk menggunakan sitemaps silahkan menggunakan URL feed ini
http://namabloganda.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false

Dengan menggunakan URL feed ini, maka feed yang masuk ke webmaster tidak akan di redirect ke custom feed, tetapi feed asli blogger akan langsung dikirim ke webmaster tool. oleh sebab itu dengan menggunakan URL feed status sitemap tidak akan error.

o iya ada sedikit tambahan, URL feed hanya dapat memperlihatkan 25 link post, jadi buat teman-teman yang memiliki posting di atas 25 bisa menggunakan URL feed seperti ini.
